Ceramics" is a totally independent production shot in 16 mm with
a small, closely-knit team.

With
photography by Javier Quintanilla, the emphasis was on highlighting
colours and textures, presenting ceramics as it is: as clay, during
firing, the studio environment, under the hands of the artist, etc.
The sound was recorded on site by Brendan Geraghty and Giovanna Ribes. |

The
soundtrack was composed especially by Jesús Santandreu, who gives each
documentary its own particular flavour.
As an example, the documentary on Mestre incorporates regional musical instruments such as the Tabal drum and the Dulzaina flute, very much in keeping with the traditions of the Valencian "huerta". |

With
some dynamic editing work by Alvaro Olavarría, the aim of the Mediterranean
Ceramics series is to present the attractions and highpoints of artistic
ceramics, as explained by two authorities in the field. Often undervalued,
artistic ceramics in the Mediterranean have important statements to
make in the art world.
